Chicago Reel brings some of the city’s finest musicians together for a new look at Irish traditional music. Fiddle, flute, banjo, and button accordion combine with piano to showcase a wide repertoire of reels and jigs – old and new – energetic and full of spirit.
While paying homage to the great Irish musicians of the past who influenced them most, the band brings a contemporary drive and energy to their music.
Since their formation in 2010, the band has appeared at festivals and venues throughout the country, including the Milwaukee Irish Festival, the Catskills Irish Arts Week, the Indianapolis Irish Festival, iBAM!, Gaelic Park Irish Fest, Millennium Park and SPACE.
Chicago Reel is Ger Carey, Kevin Carey, Pauline Conneely, Rose Duffy, Denis O'Sullivan and Jonathan Whitall.
The IAHC Salon Concerts are opportunities to being among friends to listen to Irish music, played by talented musicians, in an intimate, friendly, setting.
The Chicago Reel Salon Concert is Friday, December 13 at 8pm. The opening act is a group of young dancers and musicians on fiddle, banjo, harp, guitar and bodhran.
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $12 for adults and children 18 and under are free.
